There are twelve months in a year.

The first month of the year is January, when it is usually cold.

January is the beginning of the new year when we make new year resolutions.

The second month is February when you still have lots of snow on the ground.

February is when lovers give gifts on Valentine's Day to each other.

March is the third month when spring begins and the winds begin to blow.

The fourth month is April when it begins to rain a lot.

In April the snow begins to melt and cherry trees begin to bloom.

May is the fifth month of the year and spring is at it's peek.

You see so many beautiful flowers in May and celebrate Mothers Day.

The sixth month and middle of the year is June.

June is the beginning of summer and the weather is getting hotter.

In June schools usually close in America and summer vacation begins.

July comes after June and is the seventh month of the year.

July is a fun month to go to the beach and play in the water.

August is the eighth month and is the hottest month of the year.

It gets dangerous to go out in the sun in August as it gets too hot.

September is the ninth month when Autumn begins and school starts again.

October is the tenth month and it's a time when the moon seems to be so big.

The leaves start to turn brown and fall from the trees in October.

November is the eleventh month and Americans celebrate Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving they eat a large meal and the main dish is turkey.

The last and twelfth month is December when winter begins.

December is a favorite month for many because it's when we celebrate Christmas.

We end the year with December and start all over again with January.
